6:30am Report of smoke in a structure at 923 SE Bay Boulevard in Newport. Firefighters and police are enroute. Occupant of the dwelling says there was smoke in the kitchen. She evacuated from the home.
6:37pm Home a little smokey. Firefighters are checking out whether there are flames inside the dwelling.
6:40pm Firefighters have found the source of the flames and smoke – home furnace. Time to do some furnace and chimney cleaning.
