Next grants meeting planned for Monday, March 14th
A mix of 12 Lincoln County elected officials and citizens attended a one-hour Zoom evening meeting on Tuesday, March 1st to discuss the potential to bring in tens of millions of dollars of federal grant funds to Lincoln County from the bipartisan infrastructure bill passed by the US Congress last fall. The attendees discussed a range of 20+ potential grants including clean school bus grants, community defense fire grants, transportation grants, water protection grants, energy efficiency grants, carbon sequestration grants and dam rehabilitation grants. Elected officials at the meeting included Lincoln County Commissioner Kaety Jacobson, Lincoln City Mayor Susan Wahlke, Waldport Mayor Greg Holland and county commissioner candidate Casey Miller.

Participants agreed to meet again at 6:00 pm, Monday, March 14th to further the efforts to apply for these federal infrastructure grants. The agenda for the next meeting includes outreach to the business community, education community, environmental community, natural resources community and others who are interested in developing a network to pursue the tens of millions of dollars of federal grants for our central Oregon coast. An agenda for the meeting will be published by March 10th.
