Passenger in a car holding an explosive device ends tragically
One person is dead after a deputy shot and killed a passenger in a car as he attempted to flee authorities Thursday evening.
Deputies followed the vehicle in a slow pursuit starting in Lincoln City. Officers laid spike strips across Highway 101 in Tillamook County and disabled the vehicle. After a two-hour stand-off an officer got a clear view of the male who reportedly was assaulting the female driver while he held an explosive device. A deputy sheriff got a clear view of the male and shot him dead. He was later identified as Alfred Moss, who was a Lincoln County resident. The lady driver survived the ordeal.
