COVID OUTBREAK IN THE LINCOLN COUNTY JAIL
On January 19th, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Administration was advised of four adults in custody testing positive for COVID. All four were experiencing symptoms related to COVID. Over the course of the next few days more inmates began showing signs of COVID. Jail supervisors monitored the situation and further testing was completed – even among jail staff. Since the onset of the January 19th outbreak 25, inmates and ten jail officers have tested positive for the virus.
The Jail Medical team remains in close contact with Lincoln County Public Health, the facility physician and the State of Oregon to ensure all necessary medically related protocols are being followed.
All previously instituted precautionary measures and protocols remain in place. COVID testing for all adults who remain in our custody will be housed in areas that have full facility cleaning, daily temperature checks for AIC’s and staff as well as a facial covering requirements and other daily precautions.
