Support Revised County Ordinances Instead of Measure 21-203
Lincoln County Commissioners listened to their constituents!
Revised county code ordinances clarify STR ownership responsibilities, hold owners accountable for verified violations, and impose penalties for unlicensed STR owners. There are also more equitable ways to secure a license, more septic tank inspections (where applicable), decreased licenses available per region, caps on licensing, and a clearer complaint procedure to report unacceptable tenant behavior and illegal STRs.
Measure 21-203 phases out licensed STRs in unincorporated Lincoln County within five years. This is likely to be contested and the costs borne by every county resident. There is no doubt STR owners will take Lincoln County to court.
If livability of your neighborhood is a priority, you have two clear choices. You can vote to either: 1) apply county code to manage licensed STRs and use a much-improved complaint process, OR 2) vote for the measure and expect higher taxes due to unbudgeted litigation costs.
Vote NO on Measure 21-203! Support Lincoln County Revisions!
