Vehicle Crash over the side of North Beaver Creek Road

Vehicle plunges off North Beaver Creek Road south of Newport – around 6 miles inland along a gravel road from the coast.
4:30pm Report of a vehicle down a 50′ drop-off from North Beaver Creek Road, south of Newport and six miles inland from the coast. It’s reported to be visible from the road above – the vehicle landing on its top. No indication how long the vehicle has been down there.
An air ambulance is on stand-by. A rope-rescue team is enroute and will attempt to lower themselves down the 40-foot plunge to the wreck. There has been no indication whether anyone is alive or dead in the vehicle.
5:15pm Rope-Rescue Team has lowered themselves down to the wrecked car. THEY FOUND NO ONE INSIDE THE VEHICLE.
5:30pm Rescue Team says upon examination, the wreck has been there for a while. Investigators should be able to track down the owner(s) of the vehicle via license plates and any car documents that may be in the glove compartment.
