It’s hard to believe that we are already talking about back to school and yet here it is a little over a month away. I think we can all remember what it felt like to return to a New school year and the anticipation of what it was going to look like for “ME”. A New teacher, New friends, New curriculum all adds up to a whole lot of New for these young kids and can be overwhelming.
I think we can all remember what it’s like on the first week of school, everyone in New outfits, hairstyles and shoes. This is not always possible for “all kids” and can be difficult to feel like they don’t fit in.
We want to do our part with your help to make sure that our kids are ready to start a fresh New year and with that is where we need your help. We are in need of $25.00 gift cards to Wal Mart or Fred Meyers, so that the parents of the school age kids can go shopping and get them the clothes, shoes, underwear, socks, etc. to start the year off right.
Parents are limited to financial resources to purchase the above for their children especially if they have multiple children, we want to make this part of the school year as easy on the parents & kids as we can by providing them with a gift card to take them shopping. It’s a WIN, WIN!
We are currently working on resources in Lincoln County to supply the kids with Backpacks & school supplies to start off right this school year.
If you would like to be a part of the success of our families, please mail the gift cards to: Samaritan House 715 SW Bay ST Newport, OR 97365. Please mail or drop off before Sept 5th so parents have time to shop.
On a fun note: Weather permitting and COVID restrictions guidelines we are planning to have a celebration morning getting them off to school on a positive note.
