Some years back a group of rural residents in Lincoln County rose up and sued the state in an effort to force the state to halt pesticide and herbicide spraying by timber companies – especially spraying so close to rural residential areas.
The disagreement wound up in the state courts.
Eventually the residents got word that they had no legal standing to overturn the state law. Residents of the affected area, in short, lost out. Of course the residents still feel like they’re being exposed to health-threatening chemicals gushing out of helicopters. We’ll see if these residents attempt to find an alternative method to stop the spraying in their “neck of the woods.”
