We’re all just two weeks away from the 4th of July. At the moment no one is allowed to do any….ANY…outside burning or igniting fireworks. The Central Coast is 8-inches behind in the seasonal “Rain Department” making “do-it-yourself” fireworks a clear and present danger, if not an absolute menace.
Waldport officials say they’ll have their fireworks display per usual – July 3rd. All other communities that want fireworks are allowed to go “BOOM!” but only under the strict standards of each city. Authorities remind everyone that fireworks are dangerous during dry periods as we are now experiencing.
You can bet that when it comes to managing fireworks on the 4th, every full time firefighter and their volunteers will be at the ready.
