1:13pm Fire Rescue is scanning the area for a reported stranded wader in Siletz Bay. Supposedly standed on a sand island. Thus far no sign of the person. Coast Guard and Depoe Bay Fire are taking command of the search.
1:21pm Coast Guard got word that the stranded person was on the ocean side of the southside spit.
1:26pm If the woman was swept off the beach, she may show up off or near shore from the south spit of the bay.
1:29pm Residents along the south or north ocean beaches from Siletz Bay might want to walk out to their beach to determine if anyone is bobbing in the water. Thus far fire-rescue personnel have found no sign of anyone beyond the surf although there was an early report of a person on the sand island just seaward of the mouth of Siletz Bay.
1:36pm Fire-Rescue Command says they’ve learned that there was someone out on the sand island but was seen walking on some submerged sand back toward shore. Rescue operations winding down.
1:38pm Rescue operations terminated.
