The Newport Public Library is excited to announce that once again they will be offering a Summer Reading Program — for all ages! Starting Tuesday, June 1st, children and adults are invited to the Library to register and receive all of the information (and goodies!) needed to participate in the program. Prizes, just for signing up! It doesn’t get much better.
Library hours are currently Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am – 530 pm, and Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 pm – 545 pm. Stop by on one of those days to sign-up and get ready to reach your reading goals. Whether you listen to stories on a device, read picture books aloud to your kids, read graphic novels or peruse cookbooks, the Library has a Summer Reading Program for you. As hours may change, please call and chat with staff for updated information at 541-265-2153.
Summer Reading 2021 will bring eight virtual programs for children and families, which can be accessed via the Library website at https://newportoregon.gov/dept/lib/. Look for performances by some of your favorite performers. Alex Zerbe, “The Zaniac” will open the season during the week of June 21st, and the closing week of August 9th will feature Rich Ritchey, “The Oregon Reptile Man”.
The theme is “Reading Colors Your World” and this will influence all programs, prizes and signage for 2021. The Newport Public Library looks forward to welcoming you back for another summer of fun, prizes and, of course, reading!
