Community invited to ‘make some noise’ and cheer on Newport nurses

The nurses at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital have done an amazing job providing compassionate care to our community over these past several months of the coronavirus pandemic.

To show these amazing women and men how much they are appreciated, everyone is invited to come to the hospital on Thursday, May 6 – which is National Nurses Day – to cheer, honk and wave from 10:30 to 10:35 a.m. If you choose to participate, just park or gather along the front side of the hospital and begin making some noise shortly after 10:30 a.m. The nurses inside will come to the windows to watch and wave back for a brief moment of celebration.

“We know our community appreciates our hospital and our nurses because they tell us so through cards and patient surveys. With this fast and fun event on May 6, they can also show us how much they appreciate us,” said Christine Henson, manager of the hospital’s ambulatory infusion services and coordinator of the DAISY program that recognizes exceptional nurses.
