Welcome our new staff!
We are pleased to announce that Juanita Miller, who has served as our office administrator since April 2019, is now our resident case manager! Juanita is passionate about the Samaritan House mission – sheltering, educating and guiding! We are also pleased to welcome a new member to our team, Sherrie Flinn. Sherrie has volunteered for the Samaritan House Tea for three years and has worked most recently with Samaritan Health Services as the manager of their walk-in clinic.
We have Wi-Fi for residents! This is so exciting we can finally announce that“the residents nowhave Internet access”.This long awaited process (started back in October) is finally complete and we are up & running for our families. This will help them on their journey to have access to their healthcare portals, zoom case management meetings, case workers, paying bills online, etc. This is a major accomplishment for Samaritan House and helps us in removing another barrier for the residents success.
Easter at Samaritan House!Once again we pulled off the “Great Easter basket surprises”. With donations of Easter baskets, eggs filled with candy, books, stuffed animals and more. It is always a treat for us to surprise the residents with Easter basket for the kids. This is always a fun time of year for staff and although things look a little different this year the smiles on the kids faces were a nice needed dose of sunshine for us.Another fun idea was to have the kids and parents do a coloring contest and for fun they were also given Easter word find searches to return completed by April 30th for prizes. Boy were the kids excited.
Get Ready to “Take Out” for Samaritan House!
We, at Samaritan House, are eager to join you all at our favorite restaurants to once again Dine Out for our families! Until we can do this safely, we have partnered with our participating Dine Out restaurants to bring you a limited series of “Take Out for Samaritan House” events, beginning the first Wednesday of April (4/7/2021) at Mo’s.Similar to our original Dine Out program, all you need to do to participate is to place an order at Original Mo’s on the Bayfront for lunch or dinner. Mo’s will donate 10% of the day’s proceeds to Samaritan House to support our transitional housing and free parenting education programs! It’s a easy as (Mo’s famous marionberry) pie.
