3:20pm A juvenile male fell off a cliff at Boiler Bay State Park Wednesday afternoon. It sounds like he fell into the water but was not hurt. But getting to the man is likely up to the Coast Guard which is enroute from Depoe Bay, which is not to far to the south.
3:32pm Now there’s talk of a rope team.
3:33pm The victim is supposedly past the view area and down a trail.
3:35pm A female went down the trail an couldn’t find the victim. Then she discovered she couldn’t find the trail to take her back up to the park. Tide rising? She finally made it back up.
3:41pm Coast Guard is launching a helicopter and a coast guard watercraft in an effort to rescue the male.
3:45pm There’s talk that the victim may have managed to climb another trail that empties out onto Marine Drive to the south. They’re checking the house or motel he is staying in.
3:52pm The rescue operation is still underway.
3:55pm The rescue operation has been cancelled….victim crawled up and out of the area on his own. Radio traffic indicated he’s a juvenile male.
