Samaritan Health Services is hosting a free, online Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop this month. It is open to anyone in Benton, Lincoln or Linn counties who lives with a chronic physical or mental health condition.
The workshop series will begin with an introductory session on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. then will meet on the following six Thursdays, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. via Teams video conference.
During the sessions, participants will support each other and work on:
Action planning, decision-making and healthy eating.
Learning to break the symptom cycle and deal with frustration, pain, fatigue, isolation, sadness and poor sleep.
Skills to communicate better, make informed decisions and problem-solving.
The workshop is free and includes a companion book. Registration is required. Because this is an online series, participants will need access to a webcam, speakers and a microphone for the full class experience.
This workshop is offered periodically through the year so there will be other opportunities if these dates are not convenient. For more information and to register, email SHSHealthEd@samhealth.org or visit samhealth.org/HealthEdHub. Once you have registered you will be contacted with a class link and further instructions.
