BASIC ESTATE PLANNING
The 60 + Activity Center will be hosting an educational presentation on Basic Estate Planning, including a brief discussion on Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Advance Directives on Monday January, 4th, 2021, 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. Stacey Mealer, the presenter, is a lawyer who specializes in estate planning and regularly donates her time once per month at the Activity Center.
Learning about the basics will provide you with the information you need to start planning for how to protect yourself against incapacity, letting your choices be known, and to plan for how your estate will be left to your family, friends or charities of your choice. It is important to understand the legal process and documents needed to ensure that your wishes are honored both before and after death. Estate planning is not a one size fits all and requires individual planning. Attending the presentation will provide you with education on the different legal documents and help you start thinking about the option that is right for you.
