Angels board receiving funds raised from the auction of trees sponsored by Lakeside Senior Living facility.
Thank You from Angels Anonymous
Lincoln City, OR – Each year, Angels Anonymous, a local non-profit 501C-3 charitable organization consisting of 17 volunteers, gives thousands of dollars to help residents of North Lincoln County with immediate and basic needs. The organization offers a helping hand to those who have exhausted every other avenue of assistance. Completely manned by the seventeen members of the board, they meet monthly, have no office and no paid staff, and maintain operating expenses at less than 3%.
This year started out as a challenge with the board realizing that their main fundraiser, the Angel’s Ball and Fantasy of Trees, would need to be cancelled as a result of Covid 19. Even so, the board was resolved to help as many as possible who suffered loss from the Echo Mountain Fire while anticipating running short on funds before year’s end.
Word spread of the Angels’commitment to help provide a measure of relief for the families which had found themselves in devastating circumstances and monetary donations began pouring in. Treasurer Roger Sprague commented that “It’s truly amazing what we have accomplished this year with the help of our donors. To date, assistance has been provided to over 117 families who fell victim to the Echo Mountain fire and 33 families who qualified for assistance from other unfortunate circumstances.”
According to Angels President Jim Davis, “We anticipate requests for assistance will continue to pour in as a result of Covid 19 and the loss of jobs many have experienced. This coupled with the needs caused by winter weather may make it a challenge to help as many people as we would like, but we are amazed and thankful that the community has responded so generously to date. Those donations sometimes literally make the difference between a person being homeless or having a warm place to sleep at night or they may feed a hungry child.”
The entire Angels Anonymous Board wants to extend their gratitude to those businesses and individuals who have donated funds to Angels Anonymous to help people in need in north Lincoln County. Thanks goes to Danny Curler, Station 3 Graphics for initiating sales of Otis Strong T-shirts and sweatshirts and businesses including the Otis Market & Gas Station, Bean Box Coffee Shop at Otis, Otis Pizzeria, Candyland, Inspirations, Dr Bob’s Health Center, JS Coins, and All Ways Traveling who are continuing to sell them. All proceeds from those sales go to help the Echo Mountain Fire victims. Special thanks to Lakeside Assisted Living for keeping the tradition alive by auctioning decorated Christmas Trees as a benefit to Angels Anonymous. Those who contribute monetarily are largely responsible for Angels Anonymous’ ability to assist residents of north Lincoln County with immediate and basic needs. The list is too lengthy to print in this article and many donors wish to remain “anonymous” however, a big shout out goes to Pelican Pub.
Together all of these donations help Angels Anonymous meet the basic needs of those in various unfortunate circumstances caused from illness, loss of housing or employment, food insecurity, needing assistance with utility bills or other basic needs.
If you wish to make a monetary donation to Angel’s Anonymous call 541-994-2651 or send your donation to Angels Anonymous, PO Box 554, Lincoln City 97367.
Thanks again for your help and support. Wishing you All a Wonderful New Year!
