An Opportunity to Share Gratitude:
The 2020 Community Vision Awards
Until January 8, 2021, at 5:00 P.M.
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers—so many caring people in this world.” – Mr. Fred RogersDo you know someone who deserves recognition for helping the Greater Newport Area community? The Vision 2040 Advisory Committee has created an opportunity to recognize, thank, and celebrate the helpers of 2020. We are now gathering nominations for The 2020 Community Vision Awards. The community nomination phase is open until Friday, January 8, 2021 at 5:00 P.M.
Starting in late January 2021, public voting will select 24 awardees from the eligible nominees. Winners will receive $250 and a locally made award.
Giving and receiving gratitude are powerful mood-boosters to bring into any holiday celebration. This year’s holidays will be unconventional for many reasons, but we can still spread some cheer by recognizing people who helped us, our families, and our Greater Newport Area community in the many challenges of 2020.
