Oregon medical experts are gearing up to begin giving Oregonians anti-Covid-19 vaccination shots. The vaccine supply for Oregon is currently being arranged so each area of the state gets their required doses. Medical experts say they can get widespread immunity, or some call it “herd immunity” among all Oregonians if vaccines reach a 70% vaccination rate among Oregon residents. There will be announcements where the vaccinations will take place which includes pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens. There will be plenty of advertising about where to get a vaccination.
Medical experts report that a good part of the vaccine supply will require very cold storage to effectively preserve the strength of the vaccine. It was said that vaccination activity should begin sometime toward the middle to end of December with vaccinations available to the more vulnerable groups of Oregon’s population – mostly the elderly in nursing homes or senior citizen housing developments and of course, among medical staffs around the state. Eventually the vaccine distribution will branch out to everyone else across Oregon targeting regular healthy people. They figure it will take several months to get enough vaccine distributed so Oregon can climb out from under its viral pandemic.
