Newport Visual Arts Center Presents Pop Up Craft Show
Gift shopping with local artists to be held Dec. 16-19
The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts presents the VAC Pop Up Craft Show from December 16-19 at the Newport Visual Arts Center (777 NW Beach Dr.). A celebration of local artists, the pop up show will feature original artworks under $100, along with OCCA-sponsored gift items such as art catalogs and books, other VAC merchandise and a new Rick Bartow 2021 calendar.
A live-streaming artist talk with Sandra Roumagoux will kickoff the VAC Pop Up Craft Show from 6-7pm on Wednesday, December 16 (visit https://coastarts.org/events/oregon-coast-art-talks/). Roumagoux will unveil her new exhibit catalog, “Sandra Roumagoux: Retrospective,” and discuss her featured paintings in the pop up show. The show will be open to in-person visits from December 17-19, noon to 4pm. Select items will be available online through OCCA’s website link (https://coastarts.org/visual-arts-center/shop), with the online show running through December 31. Over 20 local artists are expected to participate.
“We have geared the Pop Up Craft Show to be a real benefit for the participating artists, who currently don’t have as many opportunities to show their work,” says OCCA VAC Director Tom Webb. “Attendees can know that they are shopping local and buying creative.”
Updates to the VAC Pop Up Art Show will be posted at www.coastarts,org.
The VAC adheres to all health and safety protocol provided by the Governor’s Office as well as the City of Newport. All visitors to the VAC are required to wear proper masks and have their temperature taken prior to entry.
