Greetings Valued KYAQ Listeners!
These are trying times for us all as COVID-19 keeps us very close to home. The need for current and truthful information on the 2020 election is in short supply. All the more reason to be glad that KYAQ broadcasts award-winning public affairs programs, including Amy Goodman’s Democracy Now, David Barsamian’s Alternative Radio, Thom Hartmann and many others that provide a much needed progressive viewpoint. We also hope you are enjoying the many Lincoln County voices covering LGBTQ issues, Iocal politics, Spanish language community programs, environmental concerns, as well as music programing, including Dead & Family, Classical Music for Everyone, Kool Jazz, Bluegrass by the Sea, Billie’s Blues Hour, and more.
In order to protect you, our volunteer staff, and patrons, during the pandemic, KYAQ has not held any fundraising events in 2020. Our 2nd Annual Chili-Cookoff and our 3rd Annual On-line Silent Auction, along with music and spoken word jams, were all canceled. As a result, the KYAQ 2020-2021 operating budget is now about $6,000 short.
Our growing volunteer production staff and governing board have big plans for the future. KYAQ runs on volunteers because we do not have corporate donors. We depend on you, our dedicated listeners, to give generously to help ensure that KYAQ continues to grow and serve our community. Because of your support, KYAQ is now debt-free for the first time in its 7 year history on the air!
You’ve come through for us in the past, and KYAQ asks that you please give generously now to help ensure that KYAQ continues to grow and serve our community. Please express your support for KYAQ by sending a check to PO Box 1664, Newport or donate online at KYAQ.org. Join our growing list of Sustaining Members, by donating a one-time sum of
$120 or more a year or make a monthly payment of at least $10.
Please know that your support is greatly appreciated!
Thanks again for supporting KYAQ 91.7FM, Lincoln County’s ONLY community radio station!
