It has been my great privilege to serve the citizens of Lincoln County as Circuit Court Judge, and I am asking voters to retain me as Judge this coming Tuesday.
I love Lincoln County, and have lived here, volunteered here, raised my family here, and practiced law here for 27 years. From serving as a prosecutor twice in the District Attorney’s office, including a stint as Chief Deputy, to practicing family law, helping parents, children, veterans, and grandparents, I have argued cases in court many, many times. I have served here as president of the county bar association, and the Oregon State Bar on its Disciplinary Board.
I have been proud to run a campaign based on my experience, my commitment to this community, and my passion for the law. I believe everyone, from defendants to prosecutors, victims to plaintiffs, and their attorneys all deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, and all should have equal access to justice.
I am proud to have run a positive, highly ethical campaign. Even though I have been encouraged to go on the attack, I don’t believe that’s appropriate, and I have refused to do so. I am greatly disappointed others don’t share my passion for positive, issues-based campaigning.
Regardless of whom you choose to vote for, please exercise that precious right, and make certain to drop your ballot off at one of the Lincoln County ballot boxes placed by the County Clerk at each of the seven city halls in our county by this coming Tuesday at 8 p.m. (It is too late to put those ballots in the U.S. Mail—they may not get to the county clerk in time.)
Thank you for the honor of serving you as Circuit Court Judge. With your vote, I will continue that service, and I ask for your vote this Tuesday.
Judge Marcia Buckley
