Surf Rescue Off Otter Crest Loop

U.S. Coast Guard Depoe Bay…
11:25am Coast Guard and OSP are enroute to Otter Crest Loop, just north of Cape Foulweather, on a report of a male who was swept off the rocks and into the water. The male has been spotted bobbing in the ocean just offshore. Cold water takes a quick toll on the human body and so the Coast Guard is racing to the scene near Rocky Creek.
11:33am A rope rescue rope team is headed to the scene.
11:35am The Coast Guard is nearing the scene and will “grab” the man from the water. Rope Rescue team is cancelled.
11:37am The Coast Guard has the man safely aboard their motor lifeboat, now enroute to Depoe Bay. Typical medical protocols would be to transport the victim to a local hospital and check for hypothermia – dangerously low body temperature.
