Wounded elk turns on shooter…

Buck took an arrow from a hunter but eventually killed the hunter.
Over the weekend Mark David from Hillsboro was archery hunting on private property in the area of Trask Road in Tillamook. David spotted a big bull elk. He moved into position and let his arrow fly. The arrow wounded the 5X5 elk which quickly ran off into the thick woods. David looked for the elk but was unable to see any sign of it due to the looming darkness.
The next morning David and the landowner tried to find the wounded bull. Just after 9 am David came upon it and tried to kill it with his bow and arrow. The elk charged David and gored him in the neck with its antlers. David quickly died from his wounds.
A short time later the elk was tracked down and killed. Its meat was donated to the Tillamook County Jail.
