The upcoming general election in Oregon shows quite a bit of potential movement around the city council dais in Lincoln City. The first councilor to head for the door is Diane Kusz – the wife of well-known LC Fire Captain Jim Kusz who retired recently. Kusz is reported to have been itching to team up with his wife and hit the road for an extended tour of the country. So Diane Kusz notified the council she was terminating her spot on the council immediately. Because she had served such a short term on the council, the council decided to hold a special election for the seat. The council apparently didn’t think much of waiting 2.5 years to fill it.
Other city council seats coming up for grabs are those held by Councilors Riley Hoagland, Judy Casper and Diane Hinton – all veteran members of the council.
