While fishing just offshore from Yaquina Head yesterday we had a round robin flyover by a US Coast Guard C-27J aircraft. I don’t think it was on a search and rescue mission at the time, but it is based in Sacramento, CA. I had no idea the USCG was flying this type of aircraft, but online it says that 14 brand new unused planes were transferred from the Air Force to the USCG. Here’s a couple photos. The top photo shows two jet skiers below the aircraft. And yes, the ocean was like a lake!
