County Commissioners skittish on Phase II

Lincoln County Courthouse, Newport
Lincoln County Commissioners and staff are still kind of squeemish on moving rapidly in to Phase II that would allow more stores and other facilities to open up. They were reading a report about the number of new cases popping up in Lincoln County and it made them slow down their approach in applying to qualify for Phase II. They’ll talk more about this at the Supervisors’ regular meeting this Wednesday.
Another major issue was considering whether to require everyone entering the Lincoln County Courthouse to wear a facemask. At the moment, facemasks are required for everyone entering a courtroom . But for the rest of the courthouse, outside of courtrooms, it remains optional. That is likely to change when the commissioners conduct their regular meeting Wednesday morning. As a reminder, the Covid-19 virus is highly hazardous in crowded areas like busy buildings. It’s why the commissioners are likely on Wednesday to make anyone who enters any door of the courthouse to be wearing a facemask.
