Saturday, May 30 @ 3 pm
The 2020 Siletz Bay Music Festival was to have been a season of anniversaries and celebrations. Sigh. But we’ve fund an occasion we can celebrate together: Yaki’s 75th Birthday. On Saturday, May 30, Siletz Bay Music Festival and Lincoln City Cultural Center are presenting A Virtual Musical Tapas Birthday Celebration to honor the festival’s fearless and beloved artistic director. YOU are invited to the party!
The SBMF’s annual Tapas concert, normally presented at Eden Hall, is like a living room cabaret. Sitting at small tables, attendees see world-class musicians perform unusual or quirky selections on a cozy set with a rug, a sofa and some picture frames. For this virtual Tapas event, musicians from throughout the 10-year history of the festival will be dropping by the Zoom living room to share a song, a laugh, some wine and a toast. After these weeks in isolation, they are no doubt looking forward to a live audience.
There are two ways to enjoy this Zoom event. To join the celebration as one of a limited number of virtual guests, send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org. They’ll send you the official Zoom login and instructions on how to participate. You’ll need to do that prior to the start time: 3 pm on Saturday, May 30.
If you’d rather enjoy the concert as an observer, tune to the LCCC Facebook Page “Live” Section starting at 3 pm. The celebration will be recorded, and available for later viewing on that page, as well as on the center’s website.
Of course, these delicious programs are made possible through the generosity of arts lovers like you. Make a donation to celebrate Yaki’s birthday, and you’ll be supporting both the Siletz Bay Music Festival and the Lincoln City Cultural Center. You can give through the Facebook buttons that appear, or head to the festival’s website here.
