Lincoln County Commissioner Claire Hall is purchasing gourmet cupcakes as a token of appreciation for local hospital employees during World Health Worker Week, April 5-11. The cupcakes from My Petite Sweet in Lincoln City, will be delivered to employees at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital and Pacific Communities Hospital.
Hall is also donating $750 to the new Samaritan Emergency Relief fund for use in Lincoln County. More information about the fund is available at: https://www.samhealth.org/giving/emergency-relief “This is a friendly challenge to other community members to support this fund as well,” Hall said. “This is a time of unusual stress for everyone, but health care workers and patients are facing unique challenges and stresses right now and this fund helps some of the people who are “falling through the cracks”. It’s important we try to take care of our entire community right now.”
Hall has directed her gift to the patient fund, which allows Samaritan to assist Lincoln County patients and families in greatest need with emergency assistance of all types.
“I have always focused on health care issues and the important partnership between county public health and our local hospitals,” Hall said. “The COVID-19 pandemic has brought heightened awareness and recognition of our essential workers in the community, and hospital employees are among those at the center of keeping our communities and healthy and safe. We could not do this without you!”
