8:09am – Report of a solo traffic crash on Highway 18, about 11 miles east of Highway 101. There are injuries. Car is off the road and in to a tree and brush.
8:14am – Weather is overcast and raining. Life Flight ambulance helicopter is grounded.
8:21am – Victim says via cellphone he’s trapped in vehicle. Broken arm among other injuries.
8:22am – First responders find the crash. It’s right at milepost 11.
8:24am – Life Flight might be able to meet up with rescuers at nearby Grand Ronde.
8:28am – Life Flight will meet up with the rescuers and victim at Grand Ronde Casino parking lot.
8:31am – Reports from the scene indicated the driver is pinned inside the vehicle. They’re very busy medically stabilizing him. It may take them twenty minutes to get him out of the wreckage.
8:33am – Grand Ronde Casino security police are being asked to open up the parking lot so Care Flight can rendezvous with the ambulance. Life Flight will transport victim to a trauma center.
8:39am – Life Flight just radioed that the weather is too bad in Grand Ronde and Lincoln City. They’re going to have to transport the victim by ground ambulance to the the nearest trauma center which is likely McMinnville or Salem.
8:44am – Change of plans. Transporting the victim to North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City. They’ll be there in about 15 minutes.
