HOW TO PARTICIPATE
IN CITY OF NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
For the April 20, 2020 Newport City Council meeting, and until further notice, the city’s plan for public comment is as follows: City Council meetings will be held electronically. The public can live-stream all City Council meetings at www.newportoregon.gov. The meetings are also shown on Charter Channel 190.
Public comment may be made, via email, up to two hours before the meeting start time at firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, anyone wishing to speak on any agenda item, or during public comment, should e-mail their telephone number, and the item they wish to address, up to two hours before the start of the meeting, to email@example.com, and staff will telephone that person when that item is being discussed at the meeting.
Agendas for City Council meetings will be posted on the city’s website approximately two days before the meeting date.
The public is encouraged to attend the electronic public meetings by viewing the live- stream at http://newportoregon.gov/citygov/comm/cc.asp, and by e-mailing comments, two hours prior to the start of the meeting, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
