Olalla Reservoir to close
In the interest of public health, Olalla Reservoir northeast of Toledo will be closed to visitors after sundown Saturday, March 21. The reservoir supplies production water to the Georgia-Pacific containerboard mill in Toledo. The company allows the public to use the reservoir for daytime recreational purposes. However, the public health risks posed by COVID-19 obligate the company to close access until further notice. Georgia-Pacific security personnel will lock the barricade leading to the reservoir and enforce the closure. Trespassing will be reported to law enforcement.
Georgia-Pacific urges its employees and the public alike to diligently follow good hygiene practices to discourage the spread of COVID-19. The federal Centers for Disease Control guidelines are here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html
