Dear CSC Board, Community Action Advisory Committee –
From: Community Services Consortium
We want to reassure you that CSC remains committed to providing quality services and assistance to those in need in our community. We are currently following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and the State of Oregon as it relates to COVID 19, seeking to offer services in the safest way possible. This includes social distancing and providing services by email and phone, when possible. We also intend to keep you updated as things change. Here’s what we can tell you now:
Linn Benton Food Share services will continue uninterrupted but have been re-worked to help pantries and meal sites provide pre-packed emergency food boxes and to-go containers of food. Community Supplemental Food Program services will continue using social distancing measures.
The following services are being provided by phone and on-line with limited in-person appointments being planned for clients without those resources:
- ● Rental and deposit assistance
- ● Supportive Services for Veteran Families program
- ● InterGen family program
- ● JOBS
- ● Independent Living Program
- ● Youth programs (not including school programs like Career Tech Charter School).Utility bill payment assistance is being conducted exclusively by phone and email. In-home weatherization activities and Rent Well classes have been temporarily suspended
while we identify alternate avenues of program delivery.
Head Start in Lincoln County, Career Tech Charter School, and some of our youth programs have been closed early and will remain closed until April at a minimum.
Our direct services as part of the homeless outreach teams have been temporarily suspended while we work with partners to determine the safest way to assist this vulnerable group of neighbors. We have re-deployed our hand-sanitizing stations to areas near larger camps in Linn and Benton Counties as a small help to maintain safe hygiene.
Our office doors in Newport, Corvallis, and Albany will close to all but clients with pre-arranged appointments at close of business on Thursday, March 19, 2020. We are busy contacting as many clients as we can reach, and we have posted signage directing clients to alternate means
of contacting us for services. Please help us to reassure community members that CSC will continue to offer most programs and supports.
As you know, things are changing rapidly; and we continuously receive new guidance from health authorities. As changes occur, CSC management and bargaining units are working together to ensure policies and practices are put in place to keep our staff, clients, and community healthy while still helping our most-vulnerable community members.
Watch our social media sites and our website for the most up-to-date information about how to obtain needed services and support. You may also call our main administrative number to leave a message to which we will respond as quickly as we can.
During this time, the quickest way to reach Pegge is by cell phone 503-998-2303 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I appreciate the efforts of all of our staff, boards, and partners to support our community. We are grateful to be working with you.
