Lincoln Community Health Center:
We learned our after hours clinic answering service is experiencing excessive hold times. Here is what you can do if you can’t get through to your doctor this weekend:
✅If your symptoms are not severe enough to need medical treatment, these individuals should stay home, rest and monitor their symptoms for care. If you would not have called your doctor or the ER 6 months ago, you don’t need to call now either. Stay home and if possible self isolate even from family members if you have fever and think it is COVID-19
✅If symptoms worsen, call your health care provider before showing up. If you can’t reach your regular doctor or the after hours service is not answering, call your local urgent care.
✅Older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions (such as heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease) are at higher risk of getting very sick from COVID-19. If symptoms are worsening, these people should call urgent care or their local emergency department sooner rather than later.
✅If they are physically able, individuals who need emergency care should tell 911 and the hospital about any known exposure to someone with COVID-19 and travel to any affected areas.
