Good News! The city is very close to officially hiring a Vision 2040 Program Coordinator, and in fact, the city may have fully completed the recruitment process by the Committee meeting of March 12. The city sought applications for the Vision 2040 Program Coordinator position and after reviewing the submissions, Barb James, Human Resources Director, and others conducted phone interviews with two individuals.
At the conclusion of the phone interviews, it was concluded that there was one viable candidate – Leslie Palotas. A panel consisting of Vision 2040Committee members, including Luana Beeson, Dr. Karen Gray, Dr. Ralph Breitenstein, and Rolla Cleaver, along with city staff, conducted a final interview with Leslie.
Following the interview, a tentative job offer was made to Leslie, and she accepted. A background check was performed, and references are being checked. As of last week, the city was waiting to talk with the last of Leslie’s references.The city received a check, in the amount of $95,000 from The Ford Family Foundation to partially fund this position and other aspects of vision implementation.
