When we all go into grocery stores to buy prepared food “to go”, we like to think that the food is properly prepared and safe to consume. Well, apparently not always. The Oregonian newspaper in Portland checked prepared food in display cases across the Portland Metro – even as far south as Redmond and east to Milton-Freewater. State food inspectors are finding what they term very serious violations in the way prepared foods are handled and sold. The Oregonian reports that state-wide inspectors lists contains what they call the twenty-one worst grocery store offenders.
