A local resident who’s reached out to OCCC and is eager to fund a scholarship for North Lincoln County residents in the College’s new welding program, launching in February.
This program, first announced a few months ago when the grant that funded it (championed by Toledo Port Manager Bud Shoemake) was secured, has generated more interest than any single story or effort since I’ve been associated with the College. The level of interest in the county has been amazing. We are very excited to finally start the program. The new welding bays are nearing completion in Toledo and the Taft High School space is going to be ready by the February launch.
