Overnight Detour Route on NE Yaquina Heights Drive, Newport

The City of Newport Public Works Department advises construction activity and temporary overnight detour route implemented on Yaquina Heights Drive Wednesday night, November 13th. The detour route will proceed along Lincoln Street for a one block detour. We advise all residents to travel on Hwy 20 instead of NE Yaquina Heights Drive. The detour route will allow paving activities to occur the following Thursday morning from Lincoln Street to NE Harney St along NE Yaquina Heights Drive. This Construction activity is a part of the City of Newport’s Yaquina Heights Drive Waterline and Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.

Construction Activity Starting on SE Ferry Slip Road

The City of Newport Public Works Department advises construction activity and new temporary traffic controls will be implemented in South Beach. The construction area includes SE Ferry Slip Road from SE Marine Science Drive to SE 35th Street and the north side of SE 32nd Street from Ferry Slip Road to Hwy 101. This Construction activity is a part of the City of Newport’s Utility Undergrounding Project. Road construction will proceed till May 2020.

Temporary Pedestrian Access Route at Intersection of NW 6th St. and NW Coast St.

The City of Newport Public Works Department advises that construction activity and new temporary pedestrian access routes will be implemented Tuesday, November 12th 2019, along Coast Street from NW 8th Street to NW Beach Drive due to sidewalk work at the intersection of NW 6th Street and NW Coast Street. This temporary pedestrian access route shall proceed for the next month. The overall construction activity is a part of the NW 6th St. Storm and Sidewalk Improvement Project. Road construction on NW 6th Street will proceed till the end of January 2020.

NW 68th St Closed till March to all Pedestrian and Vehicular Traffic

The City of Newport Public Works Department advises that NW 68th Street will remain closed through winter for the Agate Beach Wastewater Improvement Project. The road is designated to be back open to beach goers and non-residents in March 2020.
