Newport, OR November 7 – The Oregon Chapter of the American Cetacean Society is having their monthly speaker series meeting on Saturday November 16, 2019 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.The meeting will be held at the Newport Public Library, 35 NW Nye, Newport, OR. The event is free and open to the public. Join them for “Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia” by guest speaker Dr. Jim Sumich. They will also be holding a silent auction at this meeting.
Dr. Jim Sumich serves on the Oregon Coordinating Council on Ocean Acidification and Hypoxia representing the Oregon Ocean Science Trust. He is currently an Affiliate Faculty in OSU’s Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Dr. Sumich will be discussing the Coordinating Council’s Oregon OAH Report and Action Plan that focuses on efforts to develop ways that Oregonians can make a difference to slow OAH impacts and to adapt to the changes we are already seeing.
