On Anniversary of Bayfront Fire, Rogue Ales & Spirits
Honors Newport Firefighters
Join Rogue at Bayfront Public House on October 16
On October 16, 1994 the Bayfront fire raged and burned Rogue Ales & Spirits historic Bay Front Pub, but due to the bravery and selflessness of the volunteer firefighters, the fire was contained. On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, the 25th anniversary of the fire, Rogue is hosting an event to thank and honor the volunteer firefighters in our Newport community.
“We at Rogue are forever indebted to the Newport firefighters who saved our Pub from destruction,” says Rogue President Dharma Tamm. “As the legend goes, the fire started at 1:00 a.m. on October 16 and when the firefighters heard that the Rogue pub was burning, there was a 100% response and all the volunteers showed up to the scene. We are proud to be a part of this community and host this event as a thank you to all who serve.”
This all-day event will take place at the Bayfront Public House, 748 SW Bay Blvd, on October 16. To thank the firefighters for their tireless service, a portion of the day’s sales will be donated to the City of Newport Fire Department, and all past, and present firefighters will get two free pints. The event will include oysters by the notorious Mother Shuckers, a raffle and a firefighter appreciation toast at 5:00 p.m.
