The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce (GNCC) Board of Directors has selected Judy Kuhl as its new Chamber Executive Director.
Kuhl comes from an extensive background of over forty years in the hospitality industry, most recently from the position of General Manager at the Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn.
Kuhl has also been involved with the GNCC for the last fourteen years, serving on the Executive Board in various positions and most recently as president. She has served on various committees such as Discover Newport, Seafood and Wine Festival, Hospitality, and Leadership Lincoln Committees.
“I am very excited that Judy will be our Chamber Executive Director,” said Past President-at-Large and Hiring Committee Member Susan Beck. “Judy lives in Newport and has worked in Newport and been involved with our Chamber for many years. She has business experience, travel and tourism expertise and works closely with the City as the Chair of the Destination Newport Committee. Judy’s enthusiasm and strong work ethic makes her the perfect match for the future success and growth of our Chamber.”
Board Member and Hiring Committee Member Sandra Roumagoux shares Beck’s optimism.
“I am delighted that Judy Kuhl is the Greater Newport Chamber’s new executive. Judy has been an active member of the Chamber for many years and returned this year to serve her second term as President. Her love for the Chamber mirrors her dedication. Judy brings a wealth of institutional knowledge about the Chamber and at the same time brings years of experience with the Newport hotel/motel industry, the Embarcadero and Agate Beach Inn. With Judy at the helm I look forward to an exciting year.”
