The Lincoln City Flower Show, from Karen Brown, Chairman
“In Technicolor”, the 37th annual Lincoln City Flower Show, promises to combine movie memories with horticulture in the Lincoln City Community Center on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th. Everyone who is interested in entering is welcome.
A variety of design categories have been chosen to demonstrate beauty and creativity, with themes such as “A Clockwork Orange”, “Finding Nemo”, and “Flower Drum Song” among others. Crafters may enter jewelry made from plant materials, miniature gardens in containers, and floral designs in tea cups. Design entries must be the work of the entrant and include some plant components, which may be acquired in any legal manner. Floral material for design may be purchased, and accessories included.
Horticulture entries of all kinds include cut flowers, potted plants, and home grown fruits and vegetables. Horticulture entries are to have been grown by the entrant.
Youth entrants are especially encouraged to show their garden projects and crafts.
Entries must be taken to the Community Center on Saturday, August 10th, between 8:30 and 10:45 AM. The room will then be closed for judging by a team of three judges from outside the area. Ribbons and awards will be placed.
The exhibit room will be open for public enjoyment from 1:00 to 4:00 on Saturday, and again from noon to 3:00 on Sunday.
The Flower Show is sponsored by Salmon River, Ocean Spray and Depoe Bay Garden Clubs, in cooperation with the Lincoln City Recreation Department. It is open free of charge to the public to enter and/or visit.
A complete list of information for participating with entries is available at the Community Center desk, or from Karen Brown at email@example.com.
