KYAQ 91.7FM announces winner of First Chili Cook-off results
KYAQ 91.7FM, Lincoln Co’s only local community radio station is pleased to announce that on July 13th Pacific Kitchen won the first annual chili cook-off! Pacific Kitchen is a new restaurant located across the street from the Performing Arts Center at 740 W Olive St. in Nye Beach. The competition was fierce! Pacific Kitchen beat out 5 other excellent contenders, and KYAQ thanks all who donated chili and staff to benefit KYAQ. The other competitors were: bier one, Lord Brixxton’s, Oceana, TicTacTaco, and Rogue Brewery on the Newport Bayfront. KYAQ also thanks Rogue for their generous donation of three different beers.
For the third year in a row, KYAQ will again broadcast 2 days of music from the Toledo Wooden Boat Show and selling snow cones and snack packs from their booth there. So come on by and pick up the newest program schedule.
KYAQ supports the local community by maintaining a community calendar and airing public service announcements. KYAQ has over 15 locally produced talk and music shows, and Professor Gib Bernhardt hosts a monthly live in-studio music performance on the first Sunday of the month from 6-8pm and the public is invited to come to the studio at 321 SE 3rd, Toledo in the Floweree Community Center. KYAQ is completely dependent on its local community to stay on the air, and it’s events like this one that helps pay the bills. KYAQ is all volunteer run and does not receive any outside funding other than from its listening audience.
