Over the weekend approximately the Toledo Police Department was advised of an Attempt to Locate a suspect vehicle described as a Silver Ford Taurus, which had been allegedly involved in multiple car break-ins in the Newport/Seal Rock area. Officers with the Toledo Police Department located a Silver Ford Taurus, matching the description of the suspect vehicle, on Business Highway 20 near the Toledo Food Fair. When officers spotted the vehicle, the driver gunned the motor and took off at high speed. The Silver Taurus continued on Business Highway 20 towards the East Junction, where eventually it crashed at the West entrance of Pioneer Mountain Cemetery off Highway 20.
All occupants in the vehicle attempted to flee the scene. Two individuals were later located, identified, and taken into custody. Involved subjects, Gabrel Costa 19, and James Peacock 21, both of Cascadia Oregon, were lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. Both subjects were charged with Theft 1, Interfering with a Police Officer, Hindering Prosecution, Criminal Conspiracy and False Information to a Police Officer. Additional charges pending from Toledo PD, Newport PD and Corvallis PD. A third occupant of the vehicle has not been located at this time.
