Beach rescue operation off Little Creek Cove – Newport

Newport Fire Rescue is attempting to find someone reportedly in distress off the turn-out off Little Creek Cove.

Coast Guard rescue boat is now on scene.

Coast Guard is headed to a report of three people in the water, and one person on shore signaling that the people are about 300 feet off shore…roughly the length of a football field.

Coast Guard is near the people in the water. Will pull them aboard and take them back to Yaquina Bay Coast Guard Station.

Newport Fire-Rescue and Coast Guard say it looks like three crab pot buoys floating in the sea swells.
