Pacific Dance Ensemble (PDE), directed by Nancy Mittleman, invites you to join to celebrate their 33rd anniversary with their annual free show and benefit auction, “Dances From the Heart: A Valentine’s Celebration,” on Saturday, February 9, at 7 P.M. and Sunday, February 10, at 2 P.M. at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
This year’s “Dances from the Heart” will feature original choreography by guest choreographer, Catherine Ross from Portland, PDE alumni, Cecily Wechter, Anabel Tucker, Kurt Danna, and Roseena Robinson, as well as PDE members, Erika Sugrue, Leela Kreis-Stokes and Avery Osborn. The program will also showcase original dance film and videos by the guest artist and PDE alumni. PDE offers these performances as a Valentine’s gift to the community in heartfelt recognition of all the wonderful support and skills they have acquired growing up in Lincoln County.
PDE is currently seeking donations for the silent auction, and hope you will contribute to help make this year’s benefit auction a success. All donations are tax deductible. Monies from the auction benefit PDE’s continual commitment to bringing cultural enrichment to both the dance community and the community at large. All contributions directly support a multitude of programs including: engaging in exchange programs with other dance groups (national and international); offering lecture demonstrations in local schools; commissioning guest choreographers, artists and dancers to enrich Lincoln County dancers; taking students to performances in other cities; and bringing performances to the Newport Performing Arts Center.
Treat yourself to a Valentine’s surprise at the auction and enjoy PDE’s free performance, “Dances from the Heart,” Saturday, February 9, at 7 P.M. and Sunday, February 10 at 2 P.M. at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
