More and more Oregonians fear building failure when “The Big One” hits

Cascadia Subduction Zone.
Likely to rupture west of Coos Bay.

More and more residents living in Portland’s older sections – where multi-family buildings stand in great peril if the Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake hits the Beaver State, are demanding that building owners strengthen their facilities. The Cascadia quake occurs every 250 to 350 years. Right now we’re at year 319 – the last one occurred on January 26, 1700.

Here’s the story in The Oregonian. Click here.
