Oregon House Speaker Tina Kotek has launched a plan to allow duplex, triplexes and four-plexes in single family neighborhoods throughout the state – all in the name of providing more affordable housing for Oregon families.
Kotek’s legislation would require cities with more than 10,000 residents to allow the higher-density development in neighborhoods zoned for single-family houses.
Kotek says Oregon’s housing shortage for low to middle income families has reached crisis proportions and it’s long past time for the state to act to make decent housing available to more Oregon families.
