A rockslide has thundered down the side of Cape Perpetua, filling Highway 101 below full of rocks and mud. Emergency responders have managed to mostly clear the southbound lane but the rocks and debris are so deep on the northbound lane that it’s going to take some heavy equipment from ODOT to clear the roadway.
Watch for flaggers directing traffic. Sounds like a sizable slide. Plan for possible delays since between the slide and heavy equipment on the road to clear it, there could be some lengthy delays.
