The Drought: Even with the recent rainfall, drought conditions persist across almost all of Oregon, including Lincoln County, as depicted by the US Drought Monitor. A wide swath of extreme drought covers much of central and southern Oregon, in total about one-third of the state. Most of the remainder of the state is classified as severe drought. Only portions of northeast Oregon and extreme northwest Oregon are in lower drought categories: moderate drought or abnormally-dry.
